Vision

GLSEN Washington State has been serving K-12 students, educators, and community members since 1995. We envision a world in which every child learns to respect and accept all people, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression.

Mission

Our mission is to ensure that every member of every school community is valued and respected regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. We do this by combating harassment and discrimination, creating learning environments that affirm the inherent dignity of all students and staff, and by uniting students, educators, families and communities.

GLSEN WA TIMELINE

  • MAY, 2006: the board voted to become a new statewide chapter: GLSEN Washington State.
